Do Bono uses an analogy of 6 differently coloured hats to denote differnt modes of thinking.
They are approaches to creative problem solving to complement logical analysis.
What was missing from his work was a generic framework with process points that show when to wear the hat that best suits you.
The red corners in the grid below suggest where one has to change thinking roles. This can require changing hats
The Framework below allows you to drag and drop 3 different coloured hats for each of the 4 phases Scan, Analysis, Deliver and Value to refelct the different thinking styles you want
Use the table below as an aide memoir when you drag and drop the icons on the middle of the grid to the boxes labeled: Scanning, Analysis, Delivery and Value. The framework and process overview is available on Time and Emotion.
